Comments

Our second day in the area, we skied some laps from Baldy Rocks on both the south and northwest side. The skiing was very good.

The rain crust from the past week was 20-30cm down on Baldy South, and unnoticeable while skiing. We did have continuous sluffing running on the crust on both aspects. What seemed mostly loose dry in the morning settled into a storm slab later in the day, and we had one size 1 ski cut in the storm snow on a steep unsupported piece of terrain on Baldy South (in pictures). That was our third lap through that terrain. Pushing some snow off of the top of the NE side of Baldy resulted in some small storm slabs as well.

Continued precip throughout the day and moderate winds at ridge top.
