Comments

Turns out winter has been hiding in the Central Purcells! Went out for what we thought would be an exploratory walk but happened upon all time conditions! Snowed all day on us up high. We had up to 50cm of ski pen in new snow on top of a very supportive crust up to 2225m. Near ridge top and in micro features we experienced reactive wind slabs, even having propagating cracks that didn’t move down hill; wind slabs were generally north facing. Otherwise it was game on!
