Blue Cheese - Ice Climb

Climbed blue cheese today. No new snow overnight, sky had few clouds becoming broken in the evening. Winds were calm by the climb and L, S on the lake. Surface hoar was growing at valley bottom. HS was 5-10cm. Temperatures have warmed since the weekend

We hiked up the drainage and eventually found an HS of 60-70cm, surface hoar in isolated areas on top of new snow, two MFcrs (top one 1cm thick, bottom 5 cm thick) and facets to ground.

Ice was plastic and wet.
