Comments

We went up to Keith's Hut on February 6th and returned February 7th. On the night of the 6th, there was 20-30cm of new snow and it was very windy. We saw one windslab get significantly bigger overnight as a result of this (windslab was facing north caused by wind coming from the south, just before the hut). On feb 6, we skinned up to motel 66 ridge to do some skiing but noticed cracking from our skis and did not feel like it was binding properly, as well as it being very windy (wind coming from south/southwest). As a result we stuck to trees for skiing. On the way back to the highway on Feb 7 we heard a number of avalanches off in the distance as we were crossing the boulder field. While we did not see their size/exactly where they were it sounded like it was coming from the north side of motel 66 ridge/north east side of joffre peak.
