Comments
We skinned up from the 15K parking lot at the Gorge. As soon as we got into steeper terrain the storm snow started sliding everywhere. We had shooting cracks off the skin track and remote triggers all around us. Only the top 10-15 cm was sliding but I dug a quick hand pit and the snow below that sheared off very easily. We didnt see anything bigger than a size one but it was sketchy enough to call it early. We took off or skins, skied carefully back to the car and were back in town by noon.
