Comments

Signs of recent sloughing/flushing (24hrs or longer) out of the Couloir could be observed from the parking lot. Lots of refrozen roller balls on the fan as well.

We stopped just shy of the choke point, near the ice on climbers right as not enough cold cover moved in to shield the cornices above us from the sun. The skiing in the Couloir was amazing, cold, dry and very well bonded powder. A choppy section of the fan working through the roller balls and then a corn harvest on the lower fan.

We did a second lap from skiers left of the fan again in great corn snow. Going up for the second lap we noticed lots of new roller balls, some larger ones that peeled out of pockets near the lower cliffs. Timing is everything.
