Comments

Fairly good skiing on N aspects despite advertised warm temps. Treed slopes held nice powder, and alpine slopes were wind pressed once again.

We dug a pit @ 1850m on a due N aspect. HS 85cm, bed surface: boulder field. We did find the persistent weak layer overlying the ground, it was about 3cm thick, but in this particular location, the facets were rounding and beginning to bond with the upper snowpack. We did not find evidence of cohesive slab in the upper snowpack. It was mostly right side up, with some isolated pockets of slab. Rutchsblock test was negative. Skiing was pretty good early season alpine skiing - if you know, you know.

Attempted to ski out and around back on the decommissioned logging rd - 10/10 would not recommend, some heinous bushwhacking was involved.
