Comments
Good day despite the cold start at asulkan parking. Skin track is very beat in and you can see a lot of evidence of hoar in the trees. Gaining the avy crest ridge, conditions warmed up. Snow felt supportive. Some wind effect but nothing alarming. A hasty pit showed us the state of the snowpack. Snow goes from 1 finger to 4 at about 65cm. Lots of facets the whole way down 100cm. The top 10-15cm of unconsolidated snow became a very obvious sloughing hazard immediately after dropping in. Tried to cut a small convexity but had no results. Good turns most of the way down.
