Comments

We were able to put our skins on at the Avalanche Canada ATES signage after crossing the creek at the parking lot area. On the ski out, there were several others walking down the last 300 - 500m or so, but I skied back to the sign with my bomb-proof Icelantic skis ;-) The ski out is in far better shape than I expected after the rain last week. Skiing is good, but you can definitely feel the crust on steeper slopes below 1700m, and trail breaking across a slope is quite slippery. I even uttered to myself "I wish I had ski crampons". The sun was out and the temperature was great. We skied a north facing line and had slough running slow and loose.
