Comments

Good day at the pass. I hazard to say the snow was almost too deep (first world problem) as we were seconded to lower angle terrain based on the recent strorms loading. Toured up to Ursus trees today for two laps and closed out in Hospital Gulley. Stormy all day snowing at S-1 quite consistently. although Ta was measured at only -5C at 2100m there was a nasty wind that added to the chill and some moisture in the air. we could not visibly observe alpine wind, but at TL and BTL winds were M to H.Only slight sluffing noted into steeper features like Hospital Gullies, but a noticeable wind scoring and slab formation at the BTL and TL interface. A moderately busy Saturday considering RMR opened today and it was stormy in the pass, most people we encountered all headed up the Ursus way ~50-80 people. With the wind and new snow I suspect we should see a significant recharge in that area for tomorrow.
