Comments
We rode Taiya North East from the summit entrance. The skiing was great. Snow was dry, but variable. No signs of instability on the way up (east face), or on the ski down.
At the bottom of the line, we witnessed 2 things:
1- a pretty recent icefall avalanche from the glacier (skier’s left on the line). We estimate the size of the avalanche to be about 1.5. The icefall triggered only wet loose, no slabs.
2- a small wind slab avalanche 15cm thick x 20m wide and debris ran 200m. Most likely a few days old.
Enjoy!!
