Comments

We found 60 cm of recent snow sitting above preserved surface hoar just outside Kimberly resort. Underneath the surface hoar the snow was soft facets, making it possible to step all the way to ground when you take off your skies (up to your chest). We didn't get an ECT result on the surface hoar, probably because the snow was so soft all the way down, but that'd probably change in wind affected terrain or with more warming. We also saw debris from a size 3 avalanche that ran about 1000 vertical metres a few days ago and buried the Meachem logging road with about 2 m of debris and small trees.
