Comments
Great skiing at Anderson the last two days. Deep and light powder. We are finding a very reactive surface hoar layer buried by Thursdays snow down 15-20cm, becoming more reactive as you descend. Shooting cracks, wide propagation for the features in question, and slabs to size 1, worst in the 1000-1200 band. Could easily cause a serious situation in steep treed terrain. Seems widespread around Anderson but people would have reported it if it was active at Shames so maybe just localized.
-18c at the cabin this morning, new surface hoar on the snow surface Since Thursday as well in most places.
