We were snowshoeing from Cookies to Mosquito, and then part of the way up Mt Crowe before descending. Compression test was moderate (13); failed on large facet layer near ground as a sudden collapse. Pit dug on a mellow slope above Mosquito Cabin. Snow depth approximately 80cm.
