Comments
Touchy conditions on north-facing alpine terrain (1500-2000m) in the Dalton range south of Haines Junction. The recent approx 10cm of storm snow seemed to be not bonded well to underlying firm layers in wind loaded terrain features. Skier triggered size 1.5 windslab in steep north facing terrain. skier was not caught in avalanche, but extremely humbling since this soft wind slab avalanche ran well over 200m. crown depth approx 20cm, width approx 15m.
