Skied in Zymmacord and Waterfall trees from 1300m to 700m (at the lodge) in open gladed , low alpine and treed terrain. Observed W & N, aspects. Temps from -9 to -6. Winds L to M from the SW. Lightly snowing with 3cm accumulation. Significant wind transport building soft slabs on lee N aspects reactive to skiers with shooting cracks. Snow profile at 1200m, N aspect in protected treeline roll with 150cm snowpack depth showed compression test hard Sudden Planer down 50cm on surface Ho. No new avalanches noted, limited visibility. Snowpack structure generally a variety of wind affected surfaces over a progressively firmer snowpack with one surface hoar layer in the mid pack. 40 cm laminated crust and facets at base.
