Comments
1-5cm fresh snow on Saturday on top of breakable (solar?) crust (on SW slopes). Another buried crust layer ~50cm down, with powder filling between. Hollow, drum-like sounds, and a few shooting cracks. Wind increased later in the day, with windslabs forming on surface layer mid-late afternoon. Dug a few quick pits and snowpack was failing easily on the buried layer (clean sheer on isolated column with one tap). The only sign of recent avalanches was on east-facing 40+ degree slope as we crossed the swampy area soon after the summer parking lot.
Snow quality at TL and BTL was excellent.
