Made the somewhat poor decision to go to Pearly Rock today. Snow was very wind affected up high. It got better lower down, but by then we found ourselves navigating Christmas trees, pillows, drops, and alders - and not in a good way. It didn't feel as warm as forecast and winds were pretty calm, though there were some strong gusts. We saw no signs of instability.
I attached a photo of the Illy glacier to show how broken it is. Also a photo of Dome Col and Sapphire Col. Dome Col doesn't look in, though maybe there's a sneak you can't see from that far away.
