Comments
Early season boot up Powder Valley brought some surprises: Approx 70cm moist unconsolidated snow beginning around 1100m elevation along the road to Paddy's led to some challenging sledding. Low overcast led us to the valley running north from the core boxes, where we skinned to 1500m and got some good turns in sheltered areas. Of note was a thick soft slab (~25cm) between about 1200-1400m that was very reactive. Getting up to treeline the wind was the big factor with some moderate hard wind slabs.
