Comments
Today we rode up to the Onion with low expectations. We were surprised to find that the riding was actually pretty fun. The trail on the way up has enough new snow (10 cm up in the meadows) that overheating wasn't an issue. The alpine is heavily wind scoured and frozen pretty firm after our week long inversion. Below 1600 m the 10 cm of new snow sits over a decomposing crust layer that was actually pretty soft and made for enjoyable and easy sledding. It was a great day to go exploring and look around.
