Quick recon in Annie Lake Road area today. Leaving the parking lot for Talky-Ho and immediately into the climb the air temperature became warmer. At 1375 m, temps were around -5, as compared to the -22 c in the valley bottom. Calm wind throughout the day.
Snowpack depth was variable depending on aspect and terrain feature. Lots of rocks and willows poking out of the snowpack. Most areas has between 20 - 50 cm of faceted snow to ground. Some areas had a supportive 10 cm windslab at the top of the snowpack, with facets to ground.
