Comments
Spent the day in Elkford today and got lucky with 40cm of soft snow. We took our skis today and travelled to the alpine there was no cracking in the new snow. There were signs of loose dry avalanches in steep unsupported terrain. Temperatures remained below freezing at treeline and alpine and a thin crust was starting to form on solar aspects. We skied down a northeast facing slope and enjoyed the first day of spring with some powder turns.
