Comments

North of Sparwood we found 10 cm of snow from the last day, adding to the storm snow from earlier in the week. On south facing slopes there was a sun crust from yesterday, 10 down. The faceted snow from the cold snap is buried 30 cm deep. We had sudden results in our column test and saw evidence of natural avalanches that likely happened on this layer during the storm. Our visibility was limited but some paths that we came across had run to the valley bottom! Although the naturals in this area seem to be slowing down we suspected it was primed for us to trigger so we stayed in mellow spots without terrain traps and found great riding.
