Comments
Skied the short Hero traverse to Sweet 16 on the weekend. Some fresh snow on both ascent and descent, with wind-loading on the south/lee aspects. We avoided the main approach bowl by following the ridge proper to the col, and skied the least-convex entry point to the slope.
Weather was pleasant on approach but gusted to extreme while we were at the col switching over to ski down.
Conditions were slightly wind hammered/crusty for the top half of the line, and improved towards the bottom. Overall decent conditions, albeit a little crunchy for the top portion of the run.
The approach bowl (south/lee) appeared quite wind loaded, although we did not test that theory out.
