Comments
Pleasant weather to ford the creek. A few crossing from last week had melted out. There were wet and open spots on Hector lake.
I was thinking of skiing backside of crystal ridge but a persistent slab NA size 2 south aspect to ground in a thin area on the lesser cirque peak deterred us.
Highs of +4 at treeline. A thin crust from over night had broken down by midday with moistish snow below.
Found good skiing but was starting to freeze on our way out. Will be hard to find good skiing when it freezes. Heavyish snow on East and South aspects to 2400m.
Observed lots of pin wheeling and wet loose to size 1 especially in the morning when it was windless and sunny.
