Comments
Wind couldn’t find us or our snow in the lee slope trees of Calazon today. We stuck to sheltered slopes on NE aspects below treeline, and found very good snow in the cut blocks. Didn’t see any signs of instability all day, although we couldn’t see much alpine due to cloud cover.
Our pit didn’t have any interesting results, except a layer of surface Hoar that we found down about 12 cm in the new snow layers. It wasn’t a concern today but it was quite reactive and very well could be later on once it gets buried deeper.
There’s still good riding to be had, just takes a bit more effort to find
