Comments
-22c around 09:00hrs. Calm winds all day.
Warmed to -10c on north faces around 13:00hrs. Snow was beautiful powder with no base. Every stop and hard turn found rocks.
Sun exposed south faces approached 0c around 14:00hrs. Snow was almost to the point of making snowballs. Thermometer showed +7c in the sun. Rocks were a concern on every turn.
Parking lot had surface hoar with maybe 5mm crystals.
No surface hoar present in trees.
Up the valley most snow with sun exposure had some surface hoar maybe 2-3mm crystals.
Some sloughing or avy (size <1) activity from N-face steeps.
