Comments
Skied mellow slopes along the ridge line at tree line below Cornice Ridge, south facing aspect. Snow was nice and fluffy. A little harder underneath, probably wind affected, which made riding mellow slopes a ton of fun. Definitely saw wind deposits as lenses of snow. Light wind and 0degC at 1200 m. It was very warm skinning up with snow sticking to skins. No whoomphing or cracks, be definitely hard slab under new snow.
Then skied steep slope into trees, north facing. Snow up top was fluffy, trees were nice and open, not too bombed. Snow got heavier at bottom. In steep parts, storm snow sluffed off, but not coherent.
It was 1degC at Shames parking at 700m and raining slightly.
Great day overall.
