Comments

Mar 8-12 at Stanley Mitchell

Mar 8: Approached via Tak Falls. Warm, sunny. No significant stability observations.

Mar 9: Skied to President Pass. Good coverage on the glacier, breezy from the SW. Left skis at the col trenched up the President and Vice-President by their ridges. Minimal consolidation and no evident of slab formation. Skied down on good powder transitioning to variable/wind-affected lower down.

Mar 10: Skied onto the McArthur Glacier which was significantly more wind affected with navigation between crevasse fields required. Left skis on the N ridge and booted to the summit with minimal difficulty under a strong E wind. Descended to the col and scrambled Isolated Peak. Good ski run down the glacier then thick trees to the hut. Some sloughing observed on extreme terrain on the E face of McCarthur.

Mar 11: Skied Mt Kerr by gaining the col between the false and true summit. Found significant wind affect near the col with ski crampons used. Warm and Sunny.

Mar 12: Out by the Tak Road. No new signs of instability on.
