Comments

Skied Helen shoulder, stuck to solar aspects, seeing 5-15cm of new dense snow on top of a widespread burly supportive crust. Observed no cracking or slab development, except minimal cracking on isolated NE lees. The new snow seems to be bonding well to the crust, we couldn't get much to move or entrain, though we kept away from very steep terrain or lee slopes. Ski quality good, but you can still feel the icy crust underneath, another 10cm would make a big difference in ski quality.

Observed much avalanche debris from the previous warm cycle, including 2 large slides in the south facing bowl of Helen shoulder, which looked to have stepped down to DPS.
