Comments

Quick trip today and limited travel due to visibility. The front side of Allan didnt have the amount of storm snow I was expecting. We found 32cms on top of the dec12 surface hoar layer at 2050m. This layer was still setting up and not as dense as presumed but still getting sudden collapse results in the moderate range with CT and ECT tests on 5-8mm surface hoar. Rest of the pack seems to be healing well at this location. Exposed alpine areas have been affected by mod-strong winds over the last few days. Assume loading and windslab development in lee areas which will put more load on the weak layer noted above. Ride safe and merry christmas
