Comments

Chilly afternoon out at Harvey, with moderate to strong winds moving snow, and -12 C at 2000m. We found 30 cm of recent low-density snow forming slabs in wind exposed areas ……… but skiing nicely in low angle sheltered places. Snowpack was around 110 cm at Treeline, starting to cover those ‘early season hazards’ up there, but still shallow at lower elevations.

We saw cracking in the new snow in wind affected areas, but no new avalanches observed (although visibility was pretty limited).
