There were Recent (24hr) Natural size 1 avalanches visible at treeline on 40 degree slopes in the AM on N - NE facing slopes. These areas were reloaded from Westerly wind by afternoon.
Avoided all slopes =/>30 degrees.
Great traction on the firm mid pack which sits on top of the Dec 6 Melt Freeze crust down 83cm at this location. This interface was not responsive to compression tests but did react in a deep tap test. A sled could easily trench to this depth particularly turning out from a steep climb.
