Decided on a tour day with my son based on low snow fall in this region. Ended up better than expected with approx 10cm of fresh on old snow pack. Found decent riding conditions in treed meadows and sheltered areas. Open areas were wind affected.
Dug a pit in low slope meadow to review our learnings from our recent AST course together. Found a surface hoar layer approx 10cm deep that was well bonded in the area tested and sheltered low slope areas that we chose to ride
