Comments

With spring like conditions in the Duffy, it is hard to find any instabilities in the snowpack. Of course, anything south facing at the moment is getting baked in the sun all day, producing pinwheels and light sloughing in the afternoon. A breakable sun-crust remains intact until the afternoon on S and E facing slopes. Observed one cornice failure, producing a sz .5 slab to fail under it on a due south facing slope, however even the very large cornices around Vantage and Joffre remain intact. Took a temp reading of -5 at the Anniversary Col, and the temp did not seem to fluctuate too much up higher, staying relatively cool.
