Comments

We had to drive up to about 1400m, but coverage was consistently good for sledding/skinning on the road above that.

Height of snow was about 125cm at 2000m. A test profile at this elevation on a northeast aspect revealed about 15cm of recent low-density storm snow with no evidence of wind transport. Below that the snowpack was generally comprised of well-settled storm snow, although we did note a couple of melt-freeze crusts (in the upper and mid pack) and a decomposing surface hoar layer (also in the mid pack). No shears were observed at these interfaces. Recent rain and/or moderate temperatures have encouraged significant settlement, and the snowpack at this location was generally strong and supportive.
