Comments
I parked at 850m and snowshoed up A Branch and Cabin Road to A Branch cabin. From the cabin I walked through the playground to the first viewpoint and then to another viewpoint just below the summit of Pond Peak. 2cm of new snow on 15cm base at 850m increasing to 15cm new on 110cm base at second viewpoint (1460m).The new snow slipped very easily on the crust but I didn’t notice any evidence of avalanche activity other than some small, loose slides on south aspects as the trees dropped their snow. Weather was sunny and clear with cloud in the valley bottoms.
