Summit Creek/ Flattop Glacier

We rode:

• Mellow slopes

We stayed away from:

• Convex slopes

The day was:

• Cold
• Sunny

Probed 275 cms at 1500 m on the Summit Creek Glacier (aka Flattop Glacier).

Skied a big loop today in summit creek and observed that most aspects were very wind effected. Observed several small (sz 0.5) natural avalanches on NE aspects that appeared greater than 24 hours old.

Sheltered terrain at lower elevation in Summit Creek had some soft snow, but above 1100 m it was wind effected including hard snow, wind effected pockets of softer snow, and some wind crust.
