Comments
Just good turns in the alpine and at tree line today.
10cm -20cm low density snow sits on top off the old wind effected surfaces. On south aspects there is a sun crust down 20cm. We didn’t find much wind effect from the past few days. Just good skiing! We felt comfy skiing in bigger terrain while giving cornices a wide berth.
Weather wise, we had broken sky with periods of light north winds in the morning. The winds ramped up later in the afternoon with active snow transport at tree line. Cloud layers rolled in as the north winds picked up. It was -12c in the morning, warming to -4c in the afternoon. The sun was packing a punch.
