Reactive slab below treeline in the Monashees

Great day touring on Mt Davis in the Monashees. We saw evidence of natural storm slab activity to size 2 at treeline and in the alpine, but the debris was at least 24 hours old. The storm snow, which was still upside-down in wind-exposed terrain, seemed to be gaining strength. We were, however, surprised by a ~55cm touchy slab above a hard crust on a west aspect between 1750m and 1400m. It seemed the slab had gained some cohesion from yesterday's warming, and was reactive to the weight of a skier. We were able to safely ski cut a few size 1 pockets, but didn't expose ourselves to any steep, open, unsupported rolls at this elevation band.
