Comments
Incredibly wind effected and hard snow was the theme of the full loop.
Headwall was tricky skinning with a mixture of wind effect, wind slab and possibly even some freeze/thaw conditions mixed in. The Crust was supportive and 15-30cm deep with nothing but facets underneath. Based on conditions experienced Dec 4 I highly recommend bringing ski crampons for this section.
Top half of sweet 16 is also hard and wind effected. Bottom half (starting from approx. 2350m to tree line) is variable snow but mostly breakable crust.
The wind definitely got the best of this one on all aspects. -12 at 8am and 0 at the car just past 12:00.
