Comments
Skied a couple laps of the crowfoot glades area. Pit was dug about 11:15am with both compression test and ECT performed. Compression test yielded two simultaneous failures at 9 taps, fracturing the new/wind loaded snow layer (approx. 10cm down from the surface) and large middle layer overtop large facets that went down to to the ground. ECT failure at 21 taps and full propagation across the column, approx. 45cm down. Boots punched through approx. 90-95cm through the snow to waist deep, while skis managed to stay atop the snow surface and not punch down. Soft fresh/wind transported snow made for playful skiing on the mellow slopes and trees that we rode.
