Comments

Skier accidental on Matier NW face. Second skier to ski the slope triggered a storm slab (30cm deep) and was caught in the slide. Skier slide down the full length of the NW face (350m), remaining on the surface in the debris. No injuries and just lost one ski pole. Limited information on the failure plan. Second skier triggered the slab approximately 4m from first skiers tracks. Several ski cuts on the convex role at the top of the slope indicated no cracking or reactivity in the recent storm snow.
