Ice Bison Falls

Snow conditions were:

• Deep powder

Tried to go to Bison Falls- you really need snow shoes. Also, you can't get there from the ridge, you do need to drop back into the gully. There was old avalanche debris in the gully all the way to the fork in the flats, so things can run pretty far even when there doesn't look like there is much snow in the alpine.

Snow was facets, facets and more facets except where there was a buried breakable sun crust. Just supportive enough that you had to stand all the way up before it collapsed. Snow depth was between knee and waist deep, slow walking.
