Iago to Bombtram

Riding quality was:

Amazing

We rode:

• Alpine slopes
• Cut blocks
• Dense trees
• Mellow slopes
• Open trees
• Steep slopes
• Sunny slopes

Avalanche conditions

• 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.
• Rapid temperature rise to near or above 0°C or wet surface snow.

Big day traversing from Zopkios rest stop over Iago, south to the western ridge of Bombtram, and up Bombtram.

Multiple handshear tests throughout the day on many slopes were unreactive. Isolated natural dry loose slides observed on very steep slopes.

Minor sloughing on south facing slopes while it was sunny.

Surprisingly, skiing the steep entrance to Bombtram bowl (after careful assessment) and other suspected wind-loaded areas on north and east aspects were unreactive.
