Comments
Good day of tree skiing near Barkerville for New Years Eve. Very overcast and snowing heavily for part of the day, we toured up a creek and back down through the trees. It’s just starting to be good now, with 90-130 cm at around 1500m. 10 cm of dry powder over the Christmas storm snow makes for fun turns, but the dry snow below is still very weak/faceted. We didn’t see any signs of instability in the trees, but also weren’t able to see into any bigger terrain or higher than about 1500 m due to clouds and storms. Worth going out but watch for stumps!
