Skied Log Cabin with 8 others on Dec 31st to celebrate the New Year coming! Conditions were crusty above treeline as soon as we left the cut-line. A wind event from the north on the days prior to our ski had formed wind slabs on much of the mountain and stripped bare many of the usual cross loaded features. We experienced localised whumfing which I suspect is from the windslabs sitting on a shallow faceted snowpack, but we did not dig to check. Fun skiing on the main ridge and lower part of gully below dogsleg. Ski/tour down to train tracks is ready to go.
