Comments

We skied this area conservatively for the past 3 days. 60-100 cm of low density upside down storm snow overlays the facets and surface hoar from last week. Widespread whumpfing and shooting cracks in valley bottom and up to approx 1700m. Above this elevation the weak layer seemed much less reactive. Likely the wind prevented significant surface hoar growth. Another low density 20cm fell today in light winds from the west. Visibility was poor but no natural avalanches observed. Once things settle into more slab like conditions or in windy areas I would be wary.
