Comments

A gentle stroll through the McGill Main Chutes. OVC, Cloud ceiling @ 2300m all day, precip S-1 to S1 at times.

.

UP: Cruisy skin up. Thin snowpack below 1400m but doable with a little skin acrobatics. Clear (albeit steep) skin track up the shoulder. At TL, F snow above a firm base of wind-affected slabs, MF crust and solar crust. Observed 24-48hr dry loose on steep aspects from SW to SE. No na to report.

DOWN: Still excellent dry powder conditions above 1350m. Very fast sluff running over the firm crust. The main chutes are mostly tracked by now but freshies to be found in the glades. Whumpfing on Dec12 SH layer observed on the second lap at ~1700m in a sheltered area with open skies.
