Comments
Observations up at Cameron Lake from Dec 3 confirm minimal snow, but snow coverage on the road and the Akamina Pass trail are good. The ice is 10-12cm thick just off shore with a layer of slush/water above in some places. Use caution. 30cm of snow on the ground at the lake but winds have scoured many slopes to rock and have deposited it into gullies. We skinned up to 1850m between Akamina Pass and Forum Ridge and found 30-80cm of weak unsupportive snow with overall poor travel conditions (other than the Akamina Pass Trail) and hazardous ski conditions due to skis sinking to the ground and hitting all the burned stumps.
